Building and Construction Systems (BCS), a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic's global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. BCS is currently in search of a Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager, to join our Kawneer business. This role can be located at one of our KNA manufacturing locations (Bloomsburg, PA, Cranberry, PA or Springdale, AR.) This role will be responsible for driving quality and lean initiatives that deliver sustainable, value-added improvements across Building and Construction Systems. The position is accountable for developing Quality and Continuous Improvement strategies, priorities and directing implementation that delivers operational excellence, resulting in best in class customer experience and efficiencies. The selected candidate will partner with the BCS Smart Manufacturing Center of Excellence to create autonomous systems that blend technology, people, and systems to build a stable platform for continuous improvement and growth. Key responsibilities of this role include:
Working with VP Manufacturing, develop plans and policies to continuously improve manufacturing processes. Position expected to deliver sustainable, benchmark performance in quality and operational metrics through a clear strategy, management framework, and accountability. Accountable for customer product quality and manufacturing process quality across BCS operations. Develop and document standard operating policies and procedures and changes in policies and procedures to ensure effective evaluation and analysis of processes, components, materials, goods in process and final products for compliance with quality standards and identification of random and systematic quality problems. Develop, implement, and train systematic and effective processes to investigate and resolve customer, manufacturing, supplier quality problems, ensuring mutually beneficial and collaborative actions Work in partnership with the CoE to assist in the development and execution of a Smart Manufacturing Lean strategy Analyzes process gaps, develops alternative solutions to address gaps, and ultimately lead the decision-making process with the locations and BU management. Training and facilitation for continuous improvement and quality systems Facilitation/technical support of quality and continuous improvement work Problem-solving support Capture best practices, with sharing and standardization across system Interface with Product Engineering and Supply Chain in developing high standard processes and products in early stages of development. Competencies:
The successful incumbent to this position has demonstrated the ability to achieve results in a manufacturing environment and has a passion to put that experience to work to lead multiple locations to achieve manufacturing excellence. Possess a thorough understanding of quality management and quality control processes and techniques Solid understanding and practical application of lean principles and tools Thorough knowledge of commercial markets and customers served; including end applications for products Ability to develop, implement, and train systematic and effective processes to investigate and resolve customer, manufacturing, supplier quality problems, ensuring mutually beneficial and collaborative actions Strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills with attention to detail Ability to pull various pieces together and see the big picture impact Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously across locations Ability to work independently and coach, train and energize diverse resources to develop and influence a high-performing team Ability to effectively communicate in multi-cultural environments across multiple locations and all levels of the organization Ability to travel 50% of time supporting locations. Must be located at a BCS location. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Demonstrated experience leading systems and change management initiatives Strong analytical skills; including experience in process mapping, project and program management, implementing and leading change Proven ability to collaborate, lead, coach, facilitate, and communicate with individuals across all levels Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution Minimum of 10 years industry experience in a manufacturing/plant environment Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality/Continuous improvement Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this location Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma certifications Quality certifications Experience working in matrix organization Experience integrating Smart Manufacturing/IoT into quality and CI systems
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Process ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
